Jesus Calling by Sarah Young

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I know that this blog is supposed to be your way of keeping up with me, and mostly comprised of my stories, but you can't keep up with me unless you are also keeping up with what God is teaching me. It's a my heart is connected to His heart kinda thing. So from time to time (or as of late, most of the time) I'll be posting just a little of what I'm learning along the way. Here's another great excerpt from a devotional I'm reading this year:

"I AM WITH YOU AND FOR YOU. When you decide on a course of action that is in line with My will, nothing in heaven or on earth can stop you. You may encounter many obstacles as you move towards your goal, but don't be discouraged - never give up! With My help, you can overcome any obstacle. Do not expect an easy path as you journey hand in hand with Me, but do remember that I, your very-present Helper, am omnipotent. Much, much stress results from your wanting to make things happen before their times have come. One of the main ways I assert my Sovereignty is the timing of events. If you want to stay close to Me and do things My way, ask Me to show you the path forward moment by moment. Instead of dashing head-long toward your goal, let Me set the pace. Slow down, and enjoy the journey in My Presence."

Romans 8:31; Psalm 46: 1-3; Luke 1:37

I don't know about you, but that speaks very loudly and clearly to my heart. It was truth I needed to hear today and a lesson I need to keep learning.

God with you today & Love to all,
Ames

Oh, girl. If you only knew how much I needed to hear this today! I bought Jesus Calling yesterday, and today's entry spoke to me just as much as this one. God gave this girl some powerful stuff to write! Thank you for sharing.
