-Team Time II-

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
One of the neatest things about the specific place that God has called me to at Living Hope, is that He didn't just call me. I'm a part of a much bigger story. I'm so thankful that He sent other missionaries from my home church to work here too! I often count my blessings that God could have called me to live way out in the bush somewhere by myself, but instead chose to prepare a place for me to fit in, feel at home, and feel loved and supported along the way through this African journey.

Living Hope is chalk full of Brentwood Baptist missionaries, and the ongoing partnership between Living Hope and Brentwood Baptist greatly blesses and benefits those of us living here, as well as our fellow church members back home. There is a reason that God didn't make Christianity out to be a solo effort. We are meant to live in community. We are designed to serve in community. We are purposed to love in community. We are truly better together.

So many people have caught the vision of Living Hope and we are blessed exponentially by each person  that chooses to join us or visit us along the way in our journey. That includes the 5 "units" of missionaries that BBC has on the field, the larger BBC community that collectively supports all of us, the 3-4 mission teams that come from BBC each year, all of the missionaries that live and work in Cape Town, and not to mention the hundreds of other churches that partner with Living Hope!

Your BBC crew

I really am a lucky girl. If ever I doubt what God has called me to, there are so many others here to re-affirm my calling, lift me up and help me keep walking. And when all of us are feeling weary and heavy laden? God sends us a piece of home straight from the U.S. in the form of a short term team, full of love and encouragement.

We love having teams. They are a delight to us. They encourage us. They support us. They pray with us and for us. They feed us! They bring us surprises from home and hugs from loved ones. They bring bank cards and important documents we didn't want to risk mailing. They get to know our families and friends back home and help to sustain those important connections on our behalf. They listen to us. They ask great questions. They walk a mile in our shoes. They take pictures of our work. They "ooh" and  "ahh" over our ministries and they make us feel special. They take on special project dear to our hearts. They ride camels and open ostrich eggs with us. They laugh with us. They make new memories with us. They work alongside of us and get behind the mission of what we do. They meet our coworkers and our clients. They talk to our supervisors and make friends with the maintenance guys. They tell us how proud they are of us and how grateful they are. They remind us of why we are here.

Here's to you Team... We love you!

Thank you guys! We can't wait to have you back!
